Licensing — Primary source verification

A report for one regulator is not a report for another.

Primary source verification traces your degree, your specialty certificate, your registration and your employment back to the issuing institutions. Every Gulf regulator requires it. The mistake that costs money is starting it before deciding where you are going.

Authority-specific

A report raised for the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties is not accepted by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi or by Qatar's Department of Healthcare Professions. The verification is bound to the requesting authority. Decide the country first, then verify — otherwise you pay twice and wait twice.

What slows it down
  • Institutions that have merged, closed or no longer respond to verification requests.
  • Gaps in employment history with no documentary trail.
  • Name spellings that differ across passport, degree and certificate.
  • Good-standing letters missing from a jurisdiction you practised in years ago and had forgotten.
What to do before you start

Collect originals, not copies. Establish which of your institutions still answer correspondence. Close the employment timeline, including any period spent on recognition or examinations — an unexplained two-year gap is the single most common reason an otherwise strong file stops moving.

We tell candidates what verification will cost and how long it takes before they commit to it. We never ask a physician to pay us for any part of it.

Discuss a physician search.

Tell us the specialty, the licence class and the date the post has to be covered. We will tell you in the first week whether the market supports it.
